Mind-Body Skills for Teens

The adolescent years have never been more difficult. Today’s adolescents have come of age in a time of fear and uncertainty, and now are experiencing higher expectations and greater pressure. Learning Mind-Body Skills can benefit students now and for years to come.

Some of the subjects taught in this invaluable training in how to handle stress and create a more balanced life include:

  • mindfulness meditation
  • guided imagery
  • relaxation techniques
  • journal writing
  • self-hypnosis
  • HeartMath
  • self-awareness tools
  • mindful listening

These techniques heighten self-awareness, self-care, and the ability to evoke what is known as the relaxation response. Learning to cultivate this state of mind has been proven highly effective in:

  • reducing stress
  • decreasing anxiety and depression
  • strengthening the ability to focus and learn
  • heightening an overall sense of self and sense of well-being
  • improving social skills
  • decreasing worry/rumination
  • alleviating physical tension and frustration
  • decreasing anxiety about performance, e.g., test anxiety

The group process itself has been proven to be highly therapeutic, providing an opportunity to listen mindfully to each other and to lend each other social support. Classes are co-ed.

Dates and times TBA. Call or send an email to be notified when the next group is starting.
