Therapeutic Services

“A problem cannot be solved with the same consciousness that created it.” – Albert Einstein

Einstein’s view implies that two heads are better than one. When we are stressed and feeling overwhelmed, we can get stuck in self-defeating thinking and behavior patterns. Talking things over with a psychotherapist can help shift us into a deeper level of understanding and insight.

From this more aware point of view, we are better able to live the Serenity Prayer in which we are more accepting of the things we cannot change, have greater courage to change the things we can, and have more wisdom to discriminate the difference.

Einstein’s statement also affirms what studies have shown, that internal shifts of consciousness enable us to be more creative problem-solvers. When mind-body approaches are used, psychotherapy is further enhanced. The whole person is treated, consciousness is shifted more deeply, and powerful changes can occur.
